This amazing technique was developed by Gunnel Berry a physiotherapist inspired to find solutions for people in chronic pain.
After attending the course with the amazing Gunnel Berry and can now incorporate Reflextherapy into my Reflexology treatments if required.
Adapted Reflextherapy (AdRx) is a non-invasive treatment for neuromusculoskeletal pain of short or long duration, high or low intensity. AdRx has been developed over ten years through treating thousands of people in pain within the NHS and private practice, reinforced by extensive desk research.
AdRx is a distinct form of treatment that is based on reflexology and is integrated with conventional physiotherapy. AdRx is used to detect and treat spinal injury, which may contribute to pain in other parts of the body. Particularly for those with whiplash injury and chronic pain.
A form of micro- acupressure similar to acupuncture but without needles, selected pressure points around the foot and ankle are carefully stimulated through touch by a therapist. Adrx selects and treats areas found to be sensitive and immobile on the feet and relevant to the patients skeletal pain condition. It directs treatment to specific areas for short ties to change the physiological activity.
• Pain relief
• Greater mobility
• Reduced tendency for symptoms to be triggered or exacerbated (irritability of symptoms)
• Reduced anxiety about the painful condition
• Overall improved body functioning
